In the 1820’s dozens of standard homes were built for employees of the shoe and leather factories in Marblehead. Nearly all of the original homes are still in service but many have been heavily modified. This is an original, lightly modified home. Our work involved removing an earlier addition and doubling the size of the building by adding a new wing on one side of the house. The addition is about 2,400 sf and contains a new kitchen, family room and master bedroom suite upstairs. The addition utilizes many of the design elements found on the original building but does not copy the existing structure.
